The Navarre Raider football team defeated the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at home this past Friday night. The last play of the 4th quarter with 11 seconds left on the clock, the Raiders took the game into overtime with a pass to Terrance Marshall. The score was tied 42-42 at the end of the 4th quarter, and would be brought into overtime. Both teams successfully scored a touchdown. But the Dolphins had to make a big decision to go for a field goal to tie the game, or go for a 2 point conversion to win the game. The Dolphins chose the wrong decision and would later regret that as the Dolphins were unsuccessful in pushing the ball over to the endzone in a 2 point conversion. The game would close out 49-48 Raiders as fans and family’s rushed the field to celebrate with the team and coaches after a palm sweating game. Navarre is now going into week 10 with a 7-2 record after being crowned district champions. This week on Friday 3rd 2023 the Raiders will travel on the road to Niceville for playoffs.
